Here is a selection of recent projects by Broman Services.

 

Feasibility Study and Project Management for the Australian Rail Track Corporation to relocate Hunter Valley in-motion rail weigh bridges from the Valley to the Port of Newcastle. Weigh bridges were relocated to three arrival roads leading to Port Waratah and one at Islington.


Project Management for the Australian Rail Track Corporation to certify all five Hunter Valley in motion rail weighbridges to meet the requirements of the NSW Office of Fair Trading. Involved the establishment of a 30-wagon reference train which itself required static certification before use over the in-motion weighbridges.


Preparation of Feasibility Study Construction Management, Industrial Relations and Environmental Management Plans and detailed construction schedule for Tomago Aluminium’s proposed refurbishment of its Anode Baking Oven No 1.


Feasibility Study Management to assess the scope of work, costs and schedule to recommission into service the Goro Nickel Project Pilot Plant in New Caledonia to serve as a training facility for the commercial operation.


Member of a small but highly experienced team to prepare a submission to the NSW government for a new coal export terminal in the Port of Newcastle (2005, estimated cost of development $1.7 billion).


Feasibility Study Management of a major upgrade of coal export facilities in the Port of Newcastle.

(2005, capital estimate of project $170 million).


Investigations into alternative cooling water supplies for a major NSW Electricity Generator

(2004).


Delta Electricity (Wallerawang Power Station) study into the management of bottom ash and fly ash disposal.


Owner’s Project Manager for (2001-2003, $65m) expansion Townsville Bulk Sugar Terminal, Northern Queensland.


Assistance to the Newcastle Port Corporation in structuring its project team and the preparation of Feasibility Study and EPCM Consultancy documentation for the Corporation’s $100 million Channel Improvement Project.


Management of the Environmental Impact Statement for the (1997, $700m) expansion of Kooragang Coal Terminal in the Port of Newcastle.
Management of a Review of Environmental Factors for the NSW Rail Infrastructure Corporation for major rail maintenance within a SEPP34 Wetland.


Capacity Review of Sandgate Junction on the NSW Hunter Valley Coal Haulage line for the NSW Rail Infrastructure Corporation.


Owner’s Representative for the Stage 2 (stockyard extension, loading berth with shiploader, shipping conveyor duplication expansion, 1993-1996, $240m) and Stage 3A (third shiploading berth, 1998, $89m) expansion of Kooragang Coal Terminal in the Port of Newcastle, NSW, Australia.
